Rebordering Britain & Britons after Brexit

Brexit and its impact on the use and reimbursement of care by British insured citizens in the Czech Republic

Abstract

UK leaving the EU will affect not only the Brits but also Czech healthcare providers who will face an intricate question how to provide healthcare services and how to report them to properly receive payment. There is a vital difference between “Withdrawal Agreement Brexit” and “no-deal Brexit”, having a direct impact on individual healthcare providers. In case of “Withdrawal Agreement Brexit”, the so-far existing scheme, which is well-known by the providers, will be temporarily kept in place, while in the no-deal Brexit scenario healthcare providers will need to proceed in compliance with the potentially revived international bilateral agreement between the government of the Czech Republic and the government of the UK of 1976.
